Double digit increases in households without children

2011 Census date released this morning focused on the "Portrait of
Families and Living Arrangements in Canada, shows there were 4,605
couples who called Essa Township home, an increase of 9.1 per cent over
2006.
Of those, 2,295 were married with children, a 3.8 per cent increase
over the 2006 census figures. Married couples without children numbered
1,465, and increase of 14 per cent.
Common law couples with children were 425, a 6.3 per cent increase,
while common law couples without children were 415, a 27.7 per cent
increase.
Overall, Essa Township's population grew by 9.5 per cent to 18,505 in
the 2011 census over 2006.
