Essa will provide the Angus Lions Club with a
municipal grant equal to the cost of building permits,
approximately $1,100, to offset the fees associated with the planned
renovation of the organization's proposed new home on Cty Rd. 90.
The Angus Lions purchased two of the 12 acre property along the
Nottawasaga River which was formerly home to the NVCA, from the
Township for just under $200,000 back in February. Essa has owned the
site since 2002, and will retain the remaining 10 acres for public park
and green space.
The Lions have been without a permanent home since selling their Mill
Street property, and have been operating out of the community building
at Angus Park ever since.
It's expected the renovations will cost thousands, including flooding
issues, heating and plumbing, new roof, and other building code changes
accessibility, and a new well.
