Township still hasn't hired new public works manager

Essa has an offer of employment to a candidate for its Manager of Public Works, but in the meantime, CAO Grey Murphy continues to hold the dual function.

Mr. Murphy announced earlier this year that he was relinquishing the public works portfolio, the position he kept while promoted to CAO about seven years ago following the retirement of Brenda Seguin.

The full-time position will include a 5-step salary pay range between $69,501.62- $82,104.35, which is one of the explanations why it's taking longer to fill the post whose timeline was to have a replacement in August.
