A Brampton man found injured in the middle of a rural road west of Ivy
last week, was reportedly the victim of road rage.
Nottawasaga OPP reported this morning that they received further
information that leads them to believe the male was assaulted.
The incident was reported on July 17 at approximately 5:55 pm when
police were called to assist paramedics after they found the man lying
in the middle of the 25th Sideroad at the 8th Line, Essa. He was
conscious but had injuries to his face and the back of his head. He was
driving a 1992 brown 4-door Acura and the vehicle was found parked in
the live westbound lane of the 25th Sideroad of Essa Township.
"The injured male indicated that he was driving on the 25th Sideroad
just west of the 8th Line when the suspect vehicle started to tailgate
his vehicle," according to the press release from OPP. "The suspect
vehicle made several attempts to pass but was unable to do so due to
oncoming traffic. The injured male indicated that when he did stop at
the intersection, three young males exited their vehicle and approached
his vehicle. Police now have some details on the suspect vehicle;
the vehicle is described as a dark blue or black vehicle, possibly a
Volkswagen make of vehicle.
Motorists that stopped for this male indicated his vehicle was parked
approximately one car length back from the stop sign in the live
westbound lane with his driver's side door open."
The investigation continues.
